Mykhailo Chedryk, was born in Svalyava, Ukraine, in October 1997. He attended Svalyava Secondary School No.2 and the Svalyava Art School, receiving his primary musical education.
Mykhailo continued his education at Uzhgorod Music College, specializing in musical theory, before joining the National Music Academy of Ukraine as a composer, where he is currently working on his Ph. D. in music history under the supervision of acting associate professor Anna Hadetska.
His professional journey includes serving as the project coordinator for the educational and concert platform of new music Kyiv Contemporary Music Days (2017 - now). Mykhailo also worked as a music programme manager at the Ukrainian Institute (2019 - 2023).
Mykhailo has received several awards for his compositions, including two scholarships from the President of Ukraine and the II Prize of the First Euristrings Guitar Composition Competition. In December 2022 he was selected to be a part of the Weltoffenes Berlin programme and for a year he worked with ensemble mosaik in Berlin.
Mykhailo`s compositions have been featured at various events and festivals. Notable highlights include his participation in the 25th International Festival of Contemporary Music "Contrasts" at Lviv Philharmonic, performances at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kyiv, "Kawasaki Jazz Festival" in Tokyo, and "Up To Three" in Berlin, UCMF 2024 in New York. His music has been performed by ensemble mosaik, Cello Club, Ensemble Nostri Temporis, Kyiv Camerata, Khreshchatyk choir, Nazarii Stets, Vladyslav Indyk, and others, both in Ukraine and internationally.
