Mykhailo Chedryk was born in Svalyava, Ukraine, in October 1997. His musical journey began at the Svalyava Art School, where he received his first formal musical education.

He continued his studies at Uzhhorod Music College, specializing in music theory, before studying composition at the National Music Academy of Ukraine. In 2024, he was admitted to the Universität der Künste Berlin’s Meisterschüler program, where he studied under Professor Elena Mendoza.

Since 2017, Chedryk has served as project coordinator for Kyiv Contemporary Music Days, an educational and concert platform dedicated to new music. From 2019 to 2023, he also worked as a music programme manager at the Ukrainian Institute.

Chedryk has received several awards for his compositions, including two scholarships from the President of Ukraine, the Second Prize at the First Euristrings Guitar Composition Competition, and the First Great Award in the Composition category at the 9th Manhattan International Music Competition. In December 2022, he was selected to participate in the Weltoffenes Berlin programme, through which he worked with ensemble mosaik in Berlin for one year.

Selected presentations of his music include performances at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kyiv, the Lviv Philharmonic, the Contrasts Festival in Lviv, Two Days and Two Nights of New Music in Odesa, the Kawasaki Jazz Festival in Tokyo, Up To Three in Berlin, UCMF 2024 in New York, Carnegie Hall, and Warsaw Autumn. His works have been performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv Philharmonic, Kyiv Camerata, ensemble mosaik, Cello Club, Ensemble Nostri Temporis, the Khreshchatyk Choir, as well as performers including Nazarii Stets and Vladyslav Indyk, in Ukraine and internationally.
