Ukrainian Institute, in partnership with The Acousmatic Project, curated an international educational and concert project in Vienna.
The Masterclasses programme included approximately 80 hours of individual lessons, as well as a series of workshops, public talks, and concerts by four leading composers involved as mentors: Annette Vande Gorne (Belgium), Thomas Gorbach (Austria), Jaime Reis (Portugal), and Alla Zagaykevych (Ukraine).
An intensive week of classes resulted in a concert programme featuring works by both mentors and students at three venues in Vienna within the Sounds Around Me acousmatic music festival. The concerts featured the acousmonium—a multichannel sound system comprising 40 loudspeakers, specially created by Thomas Gorbach, founder of The Acousmatic Project, together with Marco Schretter.
